England had a good batting practice on the second day’s play of their warm-up match against the Suresh Raina led India A at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The tourists after bowling out India A for 369 early in the morning, finished Day 2 at 286 for 4 in 87 overs.

Skipper Alastair Cook found some form early in the tour scoring a patient 112 not out (from 251 balls with 13 fours). The England Captain has been in engaged in an unbroken stand of 153 for the 5th wicket with all-rounder Samit Patel who is batting on 82 (from 145 balls with 12 fours).

Alastair CookAlso amongst the runs was no.3 Jonathan Trott, who scored 56 (from 95 balls with 9 fours). The visitors had a poor start losing rookie opener Nick Compton for a duck. Kevin Pietersen (23) and Ian Bell (5) fell cheaply to the left-arm spin of Yuvraj Singh.

Although not a single specialist spinner was picked in the India A squad, the English batsmen did get to face some spin in the form of Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Manoj Tiwary.
