West Indies have dropped former Captain Ramnaresh Sarwan from its 13-man squad for the first half of the upcoming Tri-nation Series at home. Sarwan along with fast bowler Jason Holder is the only player to be dropped from the Champions Trophy Squad. Wicket Keeper Denesh Ramdin, who was suspended for 2 ODIs by the ICC retains his place.

The 33-year-old Sarwan had a miserable comeback in the West Indies team after a gap of 18 months. Considered to be a classy batsman, Sarwan struggled to get going in the Champions Trophy where he was tamely dismissed for scores of 1 Vs Pakistan and 1 Vs India. The Guyanese has only a century to his credit since his comeback that too in a home ODI against Zimbabwe. Sarwan could have well played his last game for the West Indies at 33 as he only looked like a shadow of the batsman who has solid batting averages of over 40 in Tests and ODIs.

The 13-man squad selected by the West Indies is for the two matches to be played at Kingston. The Celkon Mobile Cup Tri-Series gets underway on the 28th. The tri-series is a very short tournament with each team playing twice against the other two teams.

West Indies Squad for matches in Jamaica: Dwayne Bravo (Captain), Chris Gayle, Johnson Charles, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Kieron Pollard, Devon Smith, Darren Sammy, Denesh Ramdin (Wicket Keeper), Sunil Narine, Tino Best, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach
