South Africa won the Second T20I against hosts New Zealand at the Seddon Park in Hamilton to level their 3-match series 1-1. In what was a very small ground, the Proteas chased down the target of 174 with four overs to spare for an 8-wicket win.

The architect of the South African victory was the 24-year-old Richard Levi who in his second international only scored a smashing unbeaten 112 from 51 balls opening the batting. Levi smacked 5 fours and a record 13 sixes which is the highest ever by a batsman in a T20I innings. Richard Levi got his century in 45 balls which is also the record for the fastest ever hundred in T20I history.

Richard LeviIn the first half of the match, New Zealand asked to bat first were restricted to 173 for 4 with the top scorer being opener Martin Guptill with 47 (from 35 balls with 7 fours and a six). The rest of the batsmen all contributed meaningful runs. For the Proteas, off-spinner Johan Botha bowled well giving away only 22 runs in his 4 overs besides taking a wicket after having opened the bowling.
